Rationale
Welcome to the Spy Museum. A museum orientated around spies, both fiction and non-fiction. This rebrand focuses on the cold, mystery enveloping the spy world. Shown instantly within the brand by its logo. Redaction plays a key theme in this new design, redacting information was a common use in hiding information on a document. Playing with this, you can see that the brand mark has been redacted as well as a few other places like the posters, hiding the identity of the top TV spies.
Keeping with the black theme to show a sense of mystery and subterfuge, common words to describe spies. Furthermore, you can connect the dots with the play of an evidence board. Evidence boards are seen commonly in spy fiction piecing together information and clues, but this is all it is. Fiction. Which fits well with the new exhibition that the newly rebranded museum is putting on. You can find ties to the evidence in things like the signage with the iconic red string helping as a divided.
Playing with redaction, I have redacted the word museum to the point where you can still read it, but it is still a redaction. A practice used by real life spies.
Museum Logo
The brands new key assets would be this series of collected images, called 'Evidence'. Playing with the key meaning of the word 'spy' which is to gather information. The evidence can be used in conjunction of other assets like posters and so on to arrange a crime board style.
Brand Assets
[REDACTED] Posters
Evidence posters can be seen all over the city of where the museum would be based. Scraps of information, evidence gathering, and wanted posters. The eyes of these spies have been redacted to protect their identities. Playing with the theme spy theme and how redaction is still used in this sector.
Piecing Together the Billboards
The posters then come together to form these big mural-like boards. Where everything has been connected together. A wide range of assets can be used and switched out, these designs are highly versatile due to the asset being able to be dropped and placed in easily. Key information can be located in the bottom left to easily identify what the viewer is actually looking at.
Iconic Symbolism
Chalk outlines are a huge part of the criminal investigations containing a death. It outlines where the body was. So playing with these iconic looking illustrations they have been repurposed as toilet signage. The white boxes are the evidence markers reduced to just an abstraction. Making a stronger link to what you are actually seeing with the outlines. Using the iconic red thread from evidence boards as a device to split up information.
Evidence Boards in the Museum
Information on pieces within the museum will also tie in with the evidence board theme. I want to create a sense of discovery, like you are unearthing the the secrets like the spy did before. Creating not only a nice looking brand, but an experience in a museum like non-other.
Missions for the Kids
Something for the kids. These kid friendly spy colouring books depict their favourite friendly child super spies. In a cute case folder styled book. Giving them their very own mission which can be brought from the gift store.

These cards are sporting some very recognisable ink prints that are used as a way to check mark the amount of visits the holder has, once full they'll be able to hand in for a hefty discount on any purchase in the gift shop.
